Changes in the the Young Citizens program

Young CitizensYoung Citizens is the national program for Heritage Fairs, in which students make short videos about their heritage fair project. In 2020, video creation  is on a volunteer basis only.  Any student who creates a heritage fair project in their school may create a 3-4 minute video explaining their project and submit it to Young Citizens/Canada’s History Society.  Students will have the chance to win one of four trips to Ottawa to attend the Canada’s History Forum. Young Citizens is coordinated by Canada’s History Society, the national charitable organization that supports Heritage Fairs.

Videos must be submitted by  early June  2020 and will then will be posted online at YoungCitizens.ca / JeunesCitoyens.ca. A public vote will take place sometime mid-June. A panel of judges will review the videos and results of the vote, and select 4 students to receive an all-expenses-paid trip for two to Ottawa in the fall of 2020.
